This 1973 BMW 3.0CSi is a Euro-market example that was delivered new to Italy and was refurbished by Oldenzaal Classics of the Netherlands between 2018 and 2019. It is finished in Fjord Metallic over blue leather and is powered by a 3.0-liter M30 inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 16? light alloy Alpina-style wheels, H&R lowering springs, power-operated windows, a Nardi steering wheel, and a cassette stereo. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2019, and work in 2023 involved servicing the brakes, resealing the differential, and replacing the spark plugs, distributor, front cover gaskets, valve cover gasket, and clutch slave cylinder. This E9 is now offered in Pompano Beach, Florida with spare wheels, a BMW Classic Certificate, recent service records, and a Pennsylvania title.
The car came finished from the factory in Fjord Metallic (37) and was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. The hood seal was replaced in 2023.
Staggered-width 16? light alloy Maxilite wheels are mounted with Achilles ATR Sport tires that measure 205/55 up front and 225/50 out back. Stopping power is provided by discs at all four corners. H&R lowering springs have been installed. The brake calipers were re-plated in 2023 and the system was flushed. A set of stock 15? light alloy wheels accompanies the vehicle.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and contoured rear seats trimmed in blue leather. Interior appointments include front seat head rests, three-point front seatbelts, a cassette stereo, power-operated windows, a heated rear window, and a heater.
The Nardi Torino three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 240-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 8k kilometers. (~5k miles), approximately 500 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown. The removed stock steering wheel is included in the sale.
The 3.0-liter M30 inline-six features Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and was reportedly rebuilt before being imported to the US. A valve adjustment was performed, the cooling system was flushed, and the radiator hoses, front cover gaskets, valve cover gasket, fan assembly, distributor, and spark plugs were replaced by Korman Autoworks of Greensboro, North Carolina in October 2023.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced and the differential resealed during the work in 2023.
