Completing production at the Munich-based Bayerische Motoren Werke in October of 2001 as a 2002 model-year car, this Z8 was one of just 2,543 Roadsters destined for the U.S. market. The first owner purchased the vehicle in Ohio and would maintain possession for nearly 10 years. Over this time the vehicle gained the largest portion of its mileage, while being registered in California, and later New Hampshire. Eventually in 2012, the second owner took custody of the BMW while the car was in New England, using the car sparingly over the next five years. The vehicle's third owner was a New Hampshire resident who took ownership in 2017, but would only have the retro-roadster for four months. Remarkably, just over 8,000 original miles are currently displayed on the odometer. We purchased the car in August of 2018.
The silky smooth 4941cc 394hp MFI DOHC V8 runs excellent and pulls strong, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that shifts flawlessly.
Finished in the iconic BMW color combination of Titanium Silver Metallic over a black leather interior, both inside and out show minimal signs of wear. This BMW carries many extras that accompanied the vehicle upon delivery: the hardtop, boot cover, wind stop, tool kit, owners and service manuals, an entire set of keys with leather pouch, and even the Z8 coffee table book. All original panels are present on this accident free investment grade Z8. Please feel free to call James Krueger with any questions at 775-629-6167.

The BMW Z8 was developed under the codename "E52" between 1993 and 1999, through the efforts of a design team led by Chris Bangle from 1993 to 1995. The exterior was designed by Henrik Fisker and the interior by Scott Lempert up until 1995, when the latter left BMW and styling was approved. The Z8 originally was designed as a styling exercise intended to evoke and celebrate the 1956-1959 BMW 507. Prototypes were spotted in testing between 1996 and 1999. A concept was later developed to preview the Z8, called the Z07 and was showcased in October 1997 at the 1997 Tokyo Auto Show. The BMW Z8 could achieve a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds. Car and Driver magazine tested the car and found it outperformed the Ferrari 360 Modena in acceleration, handling, and braking.
