Vehicle Description
1961 Rambler Ambassador. Mostly original. 1 of only 430 ever produced. Excellent condition, a solid 8 on a 10 point scale! Only ’61s had this desirable European-style front end. 94,000 original miles. That is less than 2000 miles per year. Collector owned and babied for years. Spent most of its life in Arizona, no rust. Two tone turquoise and white paint, in excellent condition. All chrome like new. Factory color-matching luggage set included in the sale. All 4 pieces straps to the roof with the factory straps and sit on factory chrome strips so that the paint is not damaged. Tires in excellent condition. Original motor was rebuilt and freshened-up several years ago. Automatic transmission (3-speed) with push button drive and reverse on the dash, works correctly. All gauges work properly. Factory push button start. Front & rear seats fold down to make a bed for sleeping for two. Rear window rolls down on rear gate which also opens. All glass in excellent condition. Has vent windows that open in the front doors as well as the rear doors. Interior I believe is all original and is all very good. The factory 327 V-8, 4 barrel carb, 270 hp starts right-up and runs excellently, no smoking. Engine compartment very clean and tidy, stock and correct. Has rare factory Kleenex tissue holder. Spare tire and factory jack included. Factory owner’s and parts manual included. Power steering with spinner handle on the steering wheel. Power brakes. Has the really cool factory netting above sun visors used to hold maps, papers, etc. This car, as all Ramblers, is unibody. This is a very rare car and is ready to win many car shows. No issues, needs nothing.
